The Marriage of Figaro

A single day of madness, a wedding of two servants, a scheming, skirt-chasing Count and a plot rife with the complexities of marriage, jealousy, infidelity and infatuation.

Often proclaimed as the most entertaining operatic comedy ever written, this stylised concert with full orchestra of Figaro by Pacific Opera is a witty, elegant blend of high comedy and Mozart's sublime music.

Performed in the style of Opéra Comique, where some of the recitatives are replaced by dialogue, this version was how the author Beaumarchais presented the first French performance of Figaro before the King Louis XVI’s court - a performance which so shocked the king that he forbade it’s public presentation.
